Equipment to Plan For

Equipment to Plan For

Submersible pump, pressure tank, sediment filter, water softener (our water is hard), and often an iron/sulfur filter. Get water tested AFTER install and annually.

Whole-House Filtration

Whole-House Filtration

Iron, sulfur, and hardness are common in our aquifer. A typical setup is sediment pre-filter → softener → carbon/iron filter. Size to your household flow rate.

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Under-sink RO systems give bottled-water quality at the tap and are common in Montura. Whole-house RO is possible but expensive — most homes pair an RO at the kitchen sink with a whole-house softener and iron filter.

USDA FARM Number — Unlock Federal Benefits

If you own or lease agricultural land in Montura, applying for a USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) farm number is the first step to crop insurance, disaster assistance, conservation cost-shares (like EQIP and CRP), and farm loans. There is no fee. Visit the Hendry/Glades County USDA Service Center in person — bring photo ID, proof of land ownership (deed or tax bill) or a written lease, your farm's physical address, and entity documents if the property is in an LLC or trust. Tenants need the landowner to sign Form CCC-902. The number is usually active within a few business days. Keep tract records updated with FSA whenever you sell land, sign a new lease, or change use, and watch for annual acreage certification and program enrollment windows.
